About

Our children's endocrinology clinic treats a full range of clinical issues including growth, puberty, adrenal and thyroid disorders and rarer endocrine problems.

We have one to two clinics each month where our general paediatricians are joined by tertiary specialists from Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

We have close links with colleagues in adult endocrinology and are able to smoothly transition adolescents to adult services when appropriate.

We offer a whole range of endocrine investigations in conjunction with colleagues at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

Clinics

Our children's endocrinology service holds clinics at St Mary's Hospital.

Before your appointment

We usually see patients within eight weeks of receiving the referral.

Parents and caregivers should attend appointments with their child if they are under the age of 16. If the child would like, relatives and close friends are also welcome to attend.

Please bring with you all prescribed medication and any other clinical information from previous consultations or treatment overseas.

During your appointment

Waiting times in the clinic may vary so please plan to spend 90 minutes with us.

During your visit a history will be taken and an examination carried out. In some cases we require blood tests.

Please note that we are a teaching hospital, so medical students may be present for some appointments. If you do not wish to have them in the room please let the nurse or doctor know and the students will be asked to step outside.

After your appointment

We will follow up with you as appropriate by either mail, email or telephone.
