About
Our children’s surgery service covers general, urology and laparoscopic surgery. Day case and inpatient visits are under shared care with general paediatricians.
Common surgeries we perform are:
- inguinal hernia
- umbilical hernia
- epigastric hernia
- hydrocele
- varicocele under 16 years
- undescended testis
- circumcision
- lumps and bumps under skin
- tongue tie release

Please use NHS e-Referrals to refer a patient to our children's surgery service.
Urgent referrals
Consultant surgeons can be contacted via the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital switchboard, Monday to Friday, 09.00 to 17.00.
Outside of these hours, urgent referrals can be made to the paediatric SpR on call at Chelsea and Westminster via the switchboard on bleep 4448.
