Pre-pubertal patients are seen in a paediatric surgical clinic by a paediatric surgeon. Pubertal patients are seen in a joint breast clinic with a paediatric surgeon, an adult breast surgeon and a breast radiologist where applicable. This was set up to provide a comprehensive service for children and adolescents with breast problems.
The Paediatric and Adolescent Breast Service is the first of its kind, established in 2019 at St Mary’s Hospital to cater to pre-pubertal and pubertal paediatric patients.
