Our renal service consists of three main areas – general nephrology, transplantation and kidney dialysis. Our consultants all have world-class reputations and are considered to be outstanding in their field. Your care will be led by the consultant of your choice, who will ensure that you have the best possible treatment every step of the way. They work alongside a highly skilled multi-disciplinary team, with expertise across a range of subspecialties, including nephrologists, surgeons, cardiologists and dedicated renal anaesthetists. Services we offer
Our experienced kidney transplant teams have completed thousands of living donor transplants; considered to be the most effective method of ensuring a successful outcome with both patient and donor returning to normal life within a matter of weeks. Other surgeries are also available including keyhole surgery and mini-open surgery - allowing us to tailor your treatment to the needs of you and your kidney donor. For patients with polycystic kidney disease, our consultants are highly experienced in this type of surgery, completing over twenty similar surgeries every year. We also offer surgery for patients requiring kidney dialysis access using minimally-invasive keyhole techniques, with short recovery times and a minimal hospital stay.
Our dialysis is supported by specialist nurses are trained to support you throughout your treatment. We aim to accommodate dialysis treatment at a date and time that suits you wherever possible.
