Virtual work experience
What to expect
Join our interactive virtual work experience programme offering a comprehensive exploration of a career in healthcare:
Days 1-3: Pathways to medicine
- Take part in a simulated trauma call and make decisions about how to care for a patient
- Follow real patients as they consult with doctors, learning how to reflect on what doctors are thinking and what patients are feeling
- Meet resident doctors and medical students and ask them any questions you have
- Be supported to use a learning journal to reflect on what you have learned (an important skill for doctors), which will be vital for your medical school interview
- The application process: Understand the key steps to a successful application to medical school.
Day 4: Nursing, allied health careers
- Exploring other careers in healthcare including nursing, radiography and allied health professions including physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
You are welcome to attend days 1-3, day 4, or all days.
Reflection is a crucial part of your work experience journey. To help you get the most out of your learning, we have created a Work Experience Learning Journal.
