Background
Mr Fernando was appointed as a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist and a subspecialist in urogynaecology at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (St Mary's Hospital) in 2006. He is also an honorary senior lecturer and an undergraduate personal tutor at Imperial College, London. He is a member of the RCOG guideline committee and was an editorial board member of the RCOG e-learning programme StratOG (2003-2006). He is also a member of the International Federation of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (FIGO) working group on pelvic floor dysfunction and ICS ethics committee. He also conducts national and international workshops to teach the doctors and midwives how to identify and repair perineal tears after childbirth. He is a guest lecturer at many national and international conferences.
