Edward Mullins

Background

Dr Edward Mullins has dedicated his career to improving women’s health. With more than 15 years' experience in low and high-risk pregnancy care, he specialises in pre-conception health, maternal medicine, diabetes, supporting labour and birth and offerering post-birth contraception as part of personalised pregnancy care.

He is proud to work in the maternity safety team to ensure our pregnancy services are responsive and that standards of care at St Mary’s remain outstanding.

He qualified from the University of Nottingham in 2005 and undertook his PhD at Imperial College. He won a fellowship with Professor Dame Sally Davies, chief medical officer for England, as editor-in-chief of her report into women’s health in England.

He was awarded a National Institute for Health Research academic clinical lectureship at Imperial College London and he's currently a clinical senior lecturer at St Mary’s Hospital and Imperial College London. He was seconded to professor Sir Chris Whitty during the pandemic as a clinical advisor and have led and collaborated in national and international studies investigating pregnancy health.
