The Job

Clinical coding is a specialist area within information management department. Clinical Coders collect, collate, translate and assign codes to clinical information relating to the diagnoses and operations for patients admitted to hospital in accordance with local
and national coding practices.

Requirements

You will learn and develop on the job, we expect you to have good literacy, numeracy skills.

• communicate effectively with clinicians when there are queries
• work to deadlines
• keep up to date with changes to national coding regulations and practice

Your development

You will complete a Customer Service Level 3 apprenticeship including an national clinical coding qualification.
