How we are doing

As a Trust we are monitored against national standards and targets known as performance indicators. They provide an overview of how successful we are as an organisation at delivering healthcare. They help us monitor waiting times, safety and patient experience.

Our hospitals are also regularly inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) who award ratings against five quality domains: safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.  Each of our sites is also awarded an overall rating. Hammersmith Hospital has been awarded: Requires improvement.

The surgical team in the cardiac department was led by my consultant and I got the impression they were highly respected and liked by their team. The entrance to the hospital looks sensible; a push button to call taxis, cheerful people in shops, and helpful staff giving directions.

Thomas MacNeece

I’ve visited Hammersmith Hospital twice for treatment of a spontaneous pneumothorax. I cannot praise the staff enough for their kindness, willingness to support and availability. They listened to any concerns I had about treatment and took them seriously. The wards are also very comfortable, clean and spacious. I feel lucky to live near one of the best hospitals in the country.

Urgent care centre

I went to the Urgent Care Centre at Hammersmith Hospital on a Sunday morning. I had an initial assessment, was seen by a very nice nurse, had an x ray done and then was seen again by the nurse. I was in and out in an hour. Very impressed, thank you.
