Background

Mr Arvind Mohan is a consultant plastic, reconstructive and hand surgeon who specialises in all aspects of acute and elective hand surgery and complex microsurgical reconstruction of soft tissue following major trauma, orthopaedic, spinal and vascular surgery. He has a particular interest in reconstruction following diabetic foot ulceration and the treatment and restoration of chronic wounds.

Arvind is pioneering functional and aesthetic reconstruction in the form of superthin and ultra-low profile free tissue transfer. Using these techniques and utilising supermicrosurgery where required, he is able to optimise function and cosmesis in his reconstructions following major trauma.

He has completed multiple specialist fellowships including a microsurgical fellowship at Wythenshawe Hospital and the prestigious London Clinic cosmetic surgery fellowship.

Arvind has published widely in the medical literature, with over 50 authorships and presentations at national and international conferences. He serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery and is regularly invited to speak at national meetings and training courses.

Arvind is passionate about teaching the next generation of junior doctors and is the training programme director for foundation year 2 trainees at St Mary’s Hospital. He is an examiner on the Trust FRCS(Plast) exam course and an educational supervisor to multiple trainees within the plastic surgery department.
