The international clinical observership programme gives fully qualified post-graduate doctors the opportunity to observe clinical work at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

Candidates for medical observership placements are qualified and registered in their home country. GMC registration is not required. No hands-on activities are allowed.

Application criteria (required)

  • Postgraduate medical doctor
  • Medical registration with a licence to practise from the country you reside
  • I am able to commit to a minimum 4 week placement
  • I will be sponsored or self-paying for this placement at a rate of £300 per week plus an application fee of £175
  • English requirements: IELTS Academic score of 7. Grade ‘B’ is required for doctors with an OET certificate in each testing area. (This is not required if medical studies were completed in an English-speaking country or if you have medical registration from an English speaking country.)
  • All Observers are to complete annual Information Governance training. The cost of the test is £20 for 12 months. You can use a debit or credit card to pay for the test.
