Background

Professor David Taube completed his medical training in Cambridge and Oxford. He went on to undertake postgraduate training in renal medicine and transplantation at Guy's Hospital, London. Professor Taube has been a consultant nephrologist for more than 30 years. He is an honorary consultant nephrologist at Royal Brompton Hospital and Lister Hospital, Stevenage. He was clinical director at St Mary's Hospital and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust renal and transplant units from 1990 to 2006. He was medical director at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust from 2007 to 2012 and director at Imperial College Academic Health Science Centre from 2012 to 2014. Since 2006 he has been professor of transplant medicine at Imperial College London.

Acute and chronic renal failure, general nephrology, renal and pancreatic transplantation, high-risk renal transplantation, particularly ABO and HLA incompatible transplantation, transplant medicine

Research & publications

Renal transplantation, immunosuppression, high-risk transplantation, complications of transplantation. Professor Taube has worked on over 150 peer-reviewed papers.
