Imperial Memory Unit-Clinical Trials

The Imperial Memory Unit is a research team running clinical trials for the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. You can register your interest in taking part or on someone’s behalf below.

To speak to our clinical trials team, go to Register your interest and complete our contact form. For more information about clinical trials, please read below about what is involved.

Who can participate?

People with Alzheimer’s disease diagnosis, MCI due to Alzheimer’s disease or people without memory problems can register their interest. Each trial has different criteria for people to join, these criteria might include age, diagnosis, medications you take and health status. The presence of some medical conditions may exclude you from research. Our team will match you to a suitable trial where possible. Please visit our Get Involved tab to register your interest in clinical trials.

Clinical trials are designed to reflect the effectiveness of a medicinal product in a real population where people from all backgrounds, genders, races, and ages may use them.

We want our trial population to be representative of the real world and for our unit to be welcoming to everyone. In clinical trials it is very important to include people of all backgrounds, races and genders to ensure drugs are effective and safe for all people.

Benefits and risks

Participation in dementia and memory loss clinical research is always voluntary; even if you decide to be involved you will be able to withdraw from the trial at any time. Withdrawing from a research study will not affect any on-going treatment you receive.
