Background

Dr David Shipway is a consultant physician with a specialist interest in perioperative medicine, assisting surgical teams to look after patients whose surgery is complicated by their other medical problems, age or overall frailty. Dr Shipway trained at Oxford University before coming to London for postgraduate training. His background is in general internal medicine and geriatric medicine, and he completed a fellowship in perioperative medicine for older patients at Guy's and St Thomas' before taking up his position at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
