Clinical trials, sexual health and HIV research

You may be approached by a member of the trials team if you are eligible to participate in a research study.

The Imperial College Clinical Trials Centre is one of the few purpose-built centres in the UK for undertaking clinical trials as well as conducting research in sexual health and HIV, including testing new treatments, diagnostics and prevention strategies.

Participation in any study is not compulsory. Declining to speak to the trial team or to enter any study will not affect the care that you receive.

We are fully integrated with the Imperial College Academic Department of GU Medicine and Communicable Diseases.

Our clinical trials centre is one of the leading HIV and sexual health research units in the UK and is located in the Winston Churchill Wing, directly opposite the Jefferiss Wing at St Mary's Hospital.

The Jefferiss Wing has also been a key recruiter to the Proud Study of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and is at the forefront of clinical research in the field of HIV treatment as prevention, management of HIV seroconversion and HIV functional cure.
