Background

Dr Carla Plymen is a consultant in cardiology and leads the heart failure service at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. She qualified from Guy's & St Thomas' Hospitals Medical School and undertook her specialist training in and around London. Dr Plymen is a specialist in the diagnosis and management of all forms of heart failure, with expertise extending to congenital and inherited types. As a patient advocate and a keen educator, she is a member of the patient care and exam certification committees of the Heart Failure Association of the European Society of Cardiology. She trains and delivers lectures nationally and internationally.
