Background

Miss Shilpa Ojha is an experienced consultant in paediatric ENT, dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to children with complex ear, nose, and throat conditions. With over 14 years of experience as an ENT surgeon, she brings a deep commitment to both clinical excellence and ongoing innovation in her field. In 2022, she obtained the prestigious Intercollegiate Fellowship of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons (FRCS) in Otorhinolaryngology.

Miss Ojha has developed a strong sub-specialist interest in paediatric airway and head and neck surgery. She completed a high-level clinical fellowship at Starship Children’s Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand, and previously undertook a Paediatric ENT research fellowship at the world-renowned Harvard University - Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in the United States.

Her research in this area has resulted in several high quality peer-reviewed publications (including JAMA) particularly focused on the management of laryngeal clefts and other paediatric ENT disorders.

Education and teaching are integral to Miss Ojha’s practice. She holds a Master’s degree in Medical Education from Cardiff University and has organised and contributed to national ENT conferences and teaching programmes. She is committed to global health and joined the Northern Cleft Foundation Charity as the sole ENT surgeon. This involved treating 110 children in a charitable surgical mission in Nagpur, India, in 2019.

Miss Ojha earned her medical degree from the University of Bristol and has trained extensively in leading NHS hospitals across the UK, including Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
