Background
Nicholas Peters is Professor of Cardiology and a Consultant Cardiologist at Imperial College and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust specialising in general cardiology, heart rhythm disturbances and implanted and on-body biosensor technologies. With extensive experience across all areas of cardiovascular disease, Professor Peters takes a holistic approach to diagnosing and treating heart rhythm disturbances, coronary disease, hypertension and heart failure in the broad context of metabolic and wider general medical conditions including weight management.
He is Clinical Lead for Cardiovascular Remote & Connected Care at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and has been clinical adviser to Google Fit and Health. He co-founded North West London’s Virtual Hospital, to drive rapid clinical implementation of tech-enabled connected and remote care to improve standards and cost effectiveness of care.
Professor Peters an interest and leadership roles in innovation in healthcare and improving patient safety and health outcomes and is responsible for what is currently the largest deployment of AI in frontline healthcare in UK.
He is a founder/board member of several clinical, academic and commercial entities across Europe and USA.

Professor Peters has more than 330 peer-reviewed papers in the cardiovascular field and has a number of international clinical and research collaborations across Europe and the USA. He teaches and trains under- and post-graduate clinicians.
Professor Peters’ current research is focused on clinical implementation of tech-enabled connected and remote care to improve standards, safety and cost-effectiveness of care.
He is responsible for what is currently the largest deployment of AI in frontline healthcare in UK.
He also heads a group researching the electrical and mechanical functions of the heart, and the causes and treatment of heart rhythm disturbances. He has an extensive molecule-to-bedside research programme, funded principally by BHF and NIHR.
He is on the steering committee of major international clinical trials in these fields. He has more than 330 peer-reviewed papers in the cardiovascular field and has a number of international clinical and research collaborations across Europe and the USA.
