Background
Dr Emma Salisbury was appointed consultant nephrologist at Imperial College Renal and Transplant Centre, Hammersmith Hospital, London in 2016. She is experienced in all aspects of general nephrology (including young adult care from 16 years of age, diabetic nephropathy, glomerular disease, hypertension and renovascular disease), as well as acute kidney failure, chronic kidney failure and haemodialysis. Her particular interest is renal transplantation and she was awarded a PhD by Imperial College London in 2013 following three years of research in transplant immunology.
Dr Salisbury achieved a BSc in Pathology with First Class Honours from the University of Edinburgh in 2001. She went on to qualify in Medicine in 2004 and her MBChB was awarded with Honours: the highest accolade awarded by the University of Edinburgh Medical School. She achieved membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2007 and her Speciality Certificate Exam in Nephrology in 2016. She was appointed Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2023. All her nephrology training was completed in London.
