Dr Amir H Sam is a consultant endocrinologist at Hammersmith and Charing Cross hospitals and a reader at Imperial College London. He graduated from University College London (UCL) with prizes and distinctions in all pre-clinical and clinical subjects. During his undergraduate training he received a scholarship to study endocrinology at Harvard Medical School. His postgraduate medical training was in Oxford and London. He completed his PhD in neuroendocrinology as a Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Fellow at Imperial College London. He has received the Imperial College President's Medal for Outstanding Contribution to Teaching Excellence and the Outstanding Teacher/Trainer of the Year Award from Health Education North West London. He is a senior fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a member of the Imperial College School of Medicine Board.
