Statement on the use of Good Food Chain products

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust has not used any products supplied by the Good Food Chain in any of its five hospitals since 25 May 2019, when an alert from Public Health England alert was first received. All of the company’s products – which included sandwiches and salads for our inpatient food service and our on-site coffee shops – were removed on that date.

Professor Janice Sigsworth, director of nursing at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, said: “As soon as Public Health England alerted us to this issue, we immediately removed all Good Food Chain products. I want to reassure patients that public health guidance means that it is unlikely any of the company’s products consumed before that date would still have the potential to cause harm.”

Public Health England and other agencies are continuing to investigate a small number of confirmed cases of listeria linked to food provided by the Good Food Chain in NHS hospitals. For more information, please see their website.
