Resident doctors' strike: 25 - 30 July

The British Medical Association is planning a resident doctors' strike, which is scheduled to run from 7am on Friday 25 July to 7am on Wednesday 30 July.

What to expect
Our priority, as with all industrial action, is to ensure everyone’s safety. We will continue to run our urgent and emergency services throughout the strike. We are also planning to continue with the majority of our planned operations and outpatient appointments, where we can do so safely.

If you are not contacted by us, please come to your appointment as planned. If we need to reschedule your appointment, including if we need to change it to a virtual/phone appointment, we will contact you directly as soon as possible to tell you. We will arrange all new appointments as soon as we can.

We are expecting a challenging few days. As always, anyone who needs non-emergency medical help or advice should contact their GP, call NHS 111 or go to NHS 111 online. If you need emergency care (for instance if someone is seriously ill, injured or their life is at risk), you should continue to call 999.
