Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT)

GIRFT is part of an aligned set of national programmes from NHS England and NHS Improvement. The programme has the backing of the Royal Colleges and professional associations. GIRFT also has a significant and increasing presence on the Model Hospital.

The programme undertakes deep dive reviews of specialities, combining wide-ranging data analysis with the input and professional knowledge of senior clinicians to examine how things are currently being done and where possible, they could be improved.

The purpose of the GIRFT team at Imperial College Healthcare Trust is to coordinate the clinically-led reviews of the specialities and to support the service with any action plans resulting from the deep dive.
