North West London Geriatric Emergency Medicine Bootcamp

The next North West London Geriatric Emergency Medicine Bootcamp conference will be held on 8 October 2018.

This one-day conference will provide tailored education to improve the acute and urgent care of frail older adults. It will focus on care, management and decision making in a crisis.

This is a truly collaborative project, uniting care providers from across north west London. The team aims to build an engaged, motivated network of care providers across the region that are keen to affect positive change for local older adults in our community.

The conference team has engaged professionals from general practice, primary care, community providers, London Ambulance Service, patient and carer groups, charity and third sector groups, acute trusts and more to ensure that a wealth of knowledge is represented during the one-day conference.

The conference’s curriculum will cover all the big topics in frailty and will be tailored to the needs of healthcare professionals in our community. The team designed the curriculum using feedback gathered via surveys, complaints, compliments and incidents as well as local data to make sure this day is as unique as our population and our providers. There will be plenary sessions and breakout workshops so that participants can individualise their learning.

The conference will feature speakers from across the region and anyone who is actively involved in patient care is encouraged to attend – this includes nurses, porters, consultants, administrative staff and more. This is a fantastic opportunity to share best practice together.

Lunch, tea and coffee will be provided on the day.

You can register for the event on the Imperial Health Charity website.

Poster presentations are welcome – if you would like to share your project on the day, please email imperial.geriatric.bootcamp@nhs.net
