How do you help your unwell child?

Are you interested in helping local healthcare services in the White City community and surrounding areas improve the way that they care for children? Or are you a healthcare professional interested in helping parents in the community?

How do you help your unwell child? is a free event taking place at White City Community Centre on 23 May 2018, organised by the Connecting Care for Children (CC4C) team based at St Mary’s Hospital and the Imperial College Centre for Engagement and Simulation Science (ICCESS).

The event is aimed at parents in the White City, Old Oak and surrounding communities and will feature an innovative ‘sequential simulation’ of the journey a mother makes through the healthcare system when her child becomes ill. This will provide a starting point for discussions amongst parents in the audience about how useful they find different health services.

Parents will also have the opportunity to design their own ‘ideal’ healthcare system and talk to doctors from St Mary’s and Hammersmith Hospitals about any child health concerns or questions they have.

The feedback gathered from parents at the event will be used by the Connecting Care for Children Team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust to help them better support the parents and children who use healthcare services in the area.
