AHSC seminar series 2017: Devices for cardiovascular disease

Join us Monday 15 May, 12.00-13.00 for the next event in our Academic Health Science Centre lunchtime seminar series: Devices for cardiovascular disease. 

In this seminar two leading experts will discuss how innovative devices are changing the way cardiovascular disease is treated, along with improving patient care.

Professor Jimmy Moore, Bagrit & RAEng chair in medical device design in the department of bioengineering at Imperial College London, will discuss his research on the role of biomechanics in cardiovascular diseases. He will explain his work to develop cutting-edge cardiovascular devices, including stents and testing methods.

Professor John Pepper OBE is professor of cardiothoracic surgery at Imperial College London, and consultant cardiac surgeon at Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust. He will discuss his significant clinical experience treating patients with cardiovascular disease, his work to develop improved surgical treatments for patients with aortic disease, and how advanced implantable devices and surgical procedures are helping to transform treatment.
