Background

Dr Neil Patel graduated from King's College London School of Medicine with distinction. He went on to complete his dermatology training at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Chelsea & Westminster Hospital. He has presented at national and international meetings including the Royal Society of Medicine, European Academy of Dermatology & Venereology, and American Academy of Dermatology. During his dermatology training he was awarded a PhD from University College London for his thesis on investigating strategies to boost cutaneous immunity to varicella-zoster virus in the ageing population. He received research prizes for his work from the British Academy of Dermatologists and National Institute for Health Research, British Society for Immunology, and the Society for Investigative Dermatology. Dr Patel has a clinical interest in inflammatory dermatology and skin cancer, and leads the hidradenitis suppurativa service at Imperial.
