Background

Dr Gielchinsky graduated with a degree in medicine from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, in 2007. He completed his specialty in urology at Haddasah Ein Kerem, Israel, in 2015 and has been serving as a urological consultant since then.

From 2015 to 2017, Dr Gielchinsky was in charge of all urological services at Haddasah Mount Scopus Campus Hospital in Jerusalem. In 2017, he completed a full fellowship program in robotic and minimal invasive cancer surgery (uro-oncology) at St. Vincent's Hospital and Kinghorn Cancer Centre in Sydney, NSW, Australia.

Currently, Dr Gielchinsky is the deputy head of the urology department at Shamir Medical Centre in Israel. He is also a member of the Israeli Board of Certification Exams in Urology.

Since 2018, Dr Gielchinsky has been leading the field of irreversible electroporation (IRE) focal therapy for prostate cancer in Israel. He established two IRE units in Israel and became a national referral surgeon for IRE. Additionally, he has been a robotic surgeon specializing in prostate and kidney surgeries since 2018.

Dr Gielchinsky has received four dean's awards for outstanding teaching from the Hebrew University and Tel Aviv University. He is currently working as a locum consultant in urology at Imperial College Healthcare in London.
