Background

Ms Alka Bhide MBBS, Bsc (hons), MRCOG, MD, is a consultant gynaecologist with subspecialist training in urogynaecology.

She qualified from the Royal Free and University College London School of medicine in 2004 and subsequently completed further subspecialist training in urogynaecology at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. She was appointed as consultant gynaecologist at the Trust in 2022.

Ms Bhide holds a Medical Doctorate (MD) from Imperial College, where she undertook novel research in the role of urinary biomarkers in the assessment of lower urinary tract symptoms. She has a number of publications in the field and has spoken nationally and internationally.

She is experienced in the medical and surgical management of urinary incontinence, vaginal prolapse and bladder pain.
