Developing our maternity services - have your say
We want to hear from you to help us provide the best possible maternity care.
Our maternity teams are caring for a growing number of women and families, including many with complex needs. We’re proud that our services – based at St Mary’s and Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea hospitals - are rated ‘outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission, but we know that experiences can vary. While many women tell us they felt well supported and informed throughout pregnancy and birth, others have been impacted by delays or had difficulty navigating care.
We want to understand this in more depth to help us to continue to provide outstanding care and respond to changing needs and views. At this stage, we are not asking people to comment on specific proposals. Instead, we are building a clearer picture of how our NHS maternity care is experienced day to day - what makes the biggest positive difference, where systems or processes create barriers, and what matters most to women and families in north west London.
We would like to hear from:
- people and families currently using our maternity services
- people who have used our services in recent years
- partners and family members who supported someone through pregnancy or birth
- people across our local communities who may consider using our services in the future.
Your views will help shape the development of our maternity services.

The survey takes around 5–10 minutes to complete - You can complete the form here

Other ways to get involved
We are also holding community listening sessions and small group discussions over the coming weeks. If you would like to take part or share your views in more detail, please contact: imperial.maternityimprovement@nhs.net.
