Catch up on our Annual General Meeting, held on 23 July 2025
On Wednesday, 23 July we held our Annual General Meeting (AGM), hosted by Professor Tim Orchard, chief executive of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Matthew Swindells, chair of North West London Acute Provider Collaborative.
It covered the Trust’s achievements during 2024/25, including maintaining low mortality rates, progress against our key operational targets, and the fourth consecutive year of improved staff survey results.
It also covered our strategic goals and key programmes for 2025–27, such as cancer care improvement, redevelopment and outpatient improvement.
Professor Tim Orchard spoke of the challenges ahead, including pay pressures and reduced spending, but also of the importance of continued collaboration, our cutting-edge research and innovation, community engagement and a strong organisational culture.

Due to a technical issue, we've transcribed the question which Eric Munro, our director of estates and facilities, is answering at 44:26.
Question: Why are Imperial College Healthcare not able to make this route accessible to people with disabilities?
Answer: "A key access route to St Mary's Hospital from Paddington station, by the Paterson Centre, has a section of very rough cobblestones which are very difficult to navigate for wheelchair users and many people with disabilities. Imperial College Healthcare have been aware of this issue for over 10 years yet I am told nothing will be done to rectify this section until major building works are carried out way into the future."
