Find out what to expect when you come to hospital for your appointment.

Before your appointment

You can expect you receive your appointment within eight weeks of referral. Please remember to bring a list of your current medications and the results of any previous investigations to the clinic if possible. 

During your appointment

Please note that we are a teaching hospital, so medical students may be present for some appointments. If you do not wish to have them in the room please let the nurse or doctor know and the students will be asked to step outside. 

Your appointment can take up to two hours to complete, as you may be required to complete a detailed pelvic ultrasound, scan and/or blood test(s) at your appointment. Investigations usually take 20 to 60 minutes. 

After your appointment

Following your first visit, you may be required to revisit for a repeat blood test six weeks after the initial visit, followed by a further visit to discuss the results.
