About

Hair and nail disorders are varied and can lead to significant symptoms, changes in physical appearance, and psychological distress. In our hair and nail clinic, we provide a dermatological examination, arrange any necessary investigations to achieve a diagnosis, and advise on appropriate treatment for a range of conditions. For hair loss, investigations will often include blood tests and a scalp biopsy.

We provide treatment for the following hair disorders:

Non-scarring hair loss:

  • Alopecia areata
  • Telogen effluvium
  • Female pattern hair loss – after diagnosis, we will ask the GP to supervise treatment

  • Lichen planopilaris
  • Frontal fibrosing alopecia
  • Central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia
  • Folliculitis decalvans
