Update from Trust public board meeting 20 May 2020

The Trust board met online on Wednesday 20 May using videoconferencing software that is being rolled out across the Trust. The public were invited to submit questions ahead of the meeting.

The meeting opened with a minute’s silence in remembrance of Jermaine Wright, Melujean Ballesteros, Donald Suelto, Professor Mohamed Sami Shousha and all other NHS staff who have died during the pandemic.

The board spoke about the challenges of the last few months and praised the commitment of clinical and non-clinical staff in their response to the coronavirus pandemic. There was particular attention paid to the successful transition of hotel services staff who work as porters, cleaners and caterers to being directly employed by the Trust, which happened 1 April. The board further discussed the Trust response to the coronavirus pandemic and plans for reset and recovery as well as reports on finance and infection prevention and control.
