Trust surgeon takes over NHS Twitter account

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust consultant Jeremy Crane will be the latest person to take over the @NHS Twitter account to showcase a week in the life of a vascular and transplant surgeon.

Jeremy will be taking over the account from Monday 21 August at 8am. Each week, the account is handed over to someone playing a critical role within the health service. The takeover celebrates the health service through the stories of the people working for or being treated by the NHS.

Jeremy said: “I’m really excited to be taking over the NHS twitter from Monday. It’s a great opportunity to showcase the amazing work that goes on in the NHS, our department and the hard work staff do day in day out.  I hope the followers enjoy their insight into the life of a transplant and vascular surgeon.”

Jeremy has been a consultant vascular and transplant surgeon at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust since October 2011. He is based primarily at the Hammersmith Hospital. He provides a kidney and pancreas transplantation service and has set up a program of vascular access surgery for haemodialysis patients, the first of its kind in North West London.
