Major incident declared at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust

A major incident was declared at St Mary’s and Charing Cross hospitals earlier today following the fire at Grenfell Tower in north Kensington. St Mary’s and Charing Cross hospitals have now been stood down.

Our accident and emergency departments at both hospitals dealt with casualties from the fire. At St Mary’s Hospital, we received 16 patients, three of whom are in a critical condition. At Charing Cross Hospital, we received four patients, none of whom are critical. This evening we have 11 patients remaining at St Mary’s Hospital, with three patients remaining in a critical condition. The four patients at Charing Cross Hospital have been discharged from hospital care.

There has been transport disruption as a result of the incident so please make sure you visit the Transport for London website before you travel.
