New director of people and organisation development appointed

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust has named its new director of people and organisation development as David Wells, who brings a wealth of commercial human resources experience.

David is currently group HR director at Glory Global Solutions, an international company providing cash management systems. Before joining Glory Global Solutions in 2008, David had leadership roles in a number of pharmaceuticals companies, including seven years at Novartis vaccines and diagnostics. David started his career as an officer in the Royal Navy.

Chief executive of Imperial College Healthcare Dr Tracey Batten said: “David has an impressive track record, with significant achievements in increasing staff engagement, embedding new ways of working and improving staff retention in large, complex organisations. These are critical issues for the Trust and the wider NHS and I’m delighted that David will be bringing his strengths to our executive team.

David will start work at the Trust on the 1 October 2015. Interim director of people and organisation development Karen Charman will continue in the role until then.
