Emergency HIV clinic

About

The HIV emergency clinic is for the assessment of serious HIV-related problems that have just started or suddenly gotten worse for existing Wharfside patients. Please note that it is not a substitute for regular appointments and does not replace visits to your GP.

To access our emergency clinic please contact 020 3312 5253, Monday to Friday between 09.00 and 13.00.

Leave a message with a contact number and we will call you back to discuss how best to meet your needs.

Out of hours emergencies

Wharfside patients needing advice about serious, HIV-related issues out of hours can contact the on-call HIV registrar by phoning the St Mary’s Hospital switchboard on 020 3312 6666.

To make sure you are directed to the most appropriate service, you will be assessed on the telephone or in person by a nurse or doctor before being booked into the HIV emergency clinic.

If you feel that you are too unwell to attend the clinic, you can either arrange a home visit from your GP or call for an ambulance to take you to your nearest A&E department.
