Background
Miss Nishat Rahman is a consultant paediatric urologist who received her bachelor's degree in medicine and surgery from the University of London in 1997. Prior to starting her paediatric surgical career, she was awarded a research fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of England during which she investigated the cellular basis of bladder sensation. She completed her paediatric surgical training in the south east region including Oxford, Chelsea & Westminster, King's, St. George's and Great Ormond Street hospitals. After a further two years of sub-specialist training in paediatric urology at Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Evelina Children's Hospital she was appointed a consultant paediatric urologist at The Evelina Children's Hospital, London, before moving to Chelsea & Westminster and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trusts. She is a keen minimally-invasive surgeon and part of the robotic team. She has recently written a consenus statement on the managment of the undescended testes for the British Association of Paediatric Urologists and has published numerous articles in peer reveiwed journals.
