Background

Dr Geoff Smith trained at the London Hospital Medical College, qualifying in 1993, and was a junior doctor in north, central and east London. He has carried out research into gastric cancer and helicobacter pylori at Bart's Health NHS Trust. He was appointed as a consultant in 2004. He provides both gastroenterology and general medical services as well as a significant involvement with postgraduate medical training, as head of the Imperial lead provider for postgraduate training.
