Dr Ed Costar is a consultant anaesthetist who provides anaesthesia for adults at Charing Cross Hospital. His special interests include anaesthesia for airway surgery, head and neck cancer, emergency surgery and regional anaesthesia. After studying medicine at the Universities of Cambridge and London he trained in the Imperial School of Anaesthesia, North West London, and at the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital. Ed is currently College Tutor for anaesthetics trainees at Charing Cross and the department’s Quality, Audit and Research Coordinator, with responsibility for the National Emergency Laparotomy Audit (NELA) and the Perioperative Quality Improvement Project (PQIP).
