Recognising and remembering colleagues
To help recognise and remember the lives of colleagues who have died during the coronavirus pandemic, we are gathering tributes and memories from colleagues.
Pedro Barte
Pedro Barte, a registered nurse who worked at Charing Cross Hospital, died in January 2021. We recognise his contribution and achievements and his colleagues share their tributes.
Jermaine Wright
Jermaine Wright, senior pharmacy technician in the aseptic unit at Hammersmith Hospital, died in hospital on 27 April. We recognise his contribution and achievements and his colleagues share their tributes.
Melujean Ballesteros
Melujean Ballesteros, a staff nurse at St Mary’s Hospital, died on 12 April. We recognise her kindness and achievements and her colleagues share their tributes.
Donald Suelto
Donald Suelto, a staff nurse at the Constance Wood Chemotherapy Unit at Hammersmith Hospital, died at home in April 2020. We recognise his contribution and achievements and his colleagues share their tributes.
Professor Mohamed Sami Shousha
Professor Mohamed Sami Shousha, consultant histopathologist, clinical lead for the breast histopathology service at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and an honorary professor of histopathology at Imperial College London, died on Thursday 2 April 2020 – we recognise his expertise and achievements and his colleagues share their tributes.
Dr William Frankland
Famed allergist Dr William Frankland, graduated from St Mary’s Hospital Medical School – now part of Imperial College London – just before the launch of the Second World War, and spent his long career at St Mary’s Hospital. He turned 108 on 19 March, and died on Thursday 2 April 2020 – we share some of the many tributes to his achievements.
