Trust marks one year of Covid-19 vaccinations

On 22 December 2020, we gave the first dose of the vaccine for Covid-19 at Imperial College Healthcare. In the year since, we've given over 70,000 jabs – first dose, second dose, and booster vaccines – to our staff, patients, local health and care workers, and our community. Our vaccinators have averaged over 25 jabs an hour, or over 250 jabs a day, for one year.

This gargantuan effort was only possible thanks to the hard work of our vaccine team – over 600 people including vaccinators, dedicated administrative teams, pharmacy, managers, doctors, nurses, allied health professionals and volunteers. It's been challenging but together, we've helped so many people avoid severe Covid-19.

We still have a lot to do to make sure we give everyone to have the chance to have a jab – first, second, or booster dose – before the close of 2021. But we want to acknowledge this monumental achievement and recognise the people who made it happen.

Thank you to every single person who pulled together to establish our vaccination centres and keep them running. As a reminder, our vaccination hubs at Charing Cross, Hammersmith and St Mary's hospitals are open for walk ins – visit our Covid-19 vaccination page for more information.
