Imperial College Healthcare appoints first director of operational performance

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust has appointed Claire Hook to the new role of director of operational performance.

Claire has been part of the Trust for the past five years as divisional director of operations for medicine and integrated care.

As director of operational performance, Claire will be responsible for co-ordinating trust-wide efforts to ensure that care pathways work as effectively and smoothly as possible for patients and staff, ensuring that key operational and performance targets are met consistently.

A member of the Trust’s executive team, Claire will support colleagues in bringing together staff across our five hospitals to integrate plans for outstanding day-to-day service and site operations.

“It’s an exciting time to take on this new role at the heart of one of the largest and most complex hospital trusts in the country,” said Claire, who has 15 years of management experience in the NHS and last year won a Leading and Developing People Award from the London NHS Leadership Academy.

“Imperial College Healthcare has been making huge strides in improving the way we deliver care across our services and, while we still face significant challenges, our operational performance is getting better and better. This role is about consolidating that progress, building on it and sustaining into the future.”

The creation of the new director post reflects the Trust’s efforts to take a holistic approach to delivering care, enabling closer collaboration both within the Trust and with partners across the health and social care sector.

“I’m delighted that Claire is taking on this new role,” said Professor Tim Orchard, the Trust’s chief executive.

“Claire has done a fantastic job bringing together the division of medicine and integrated care. With Claire’s leadership, I’m optimistic we will continue to make great progress to ensure that all of the Trust’s services are providing the best possible care.”
