One way traffic restriction on South Wharf Road at St Marys Hospital

Westminster City Council will implement a one-way system for vehicular traffic using South Wharf Road travelling eastbound from Tanner Lane from Monday 14 September 2020.

The restriction is required as part of ongoing repairs to the road bridge structure under a section of Tanner Lane and will be in place for an initial five week period with a view to remaining for the foreseeable future until these essential works are completed.

St Mary's Hospital users accessing the outpatient services can still use Winsland Mews to continue exiting via Tanner Lane onto Praed Street if required.

Vehicular traffic will no longer be able to enter South Wharf Road from Praed Street at the intersection near to where the Tesco store is located.

Westminster City Council will install appropriate road signage and local traffic marshals will be on-site between 07:00 - 19:00 on weekdays to facilitate traffic at both road exits.

It is expected the restriction will have minimal impact on hospital users. Pedestrians will be able to use South Wharf Road and Tanner Lane throughout the works.

We will monitor the situation along with Westminster City Council and Network Rail and should changes be required to the restriction we will explore this with the council and communicate any future changes accordingly.
