We have developed a comprehensive set of indicators that tell us how well we are doing across the Care Quality Commission’s (CQC) five domains of quality – safety, effectiveness, caring, well-led and responsive.
How we monitor performance
Individual teams and clinical divisions review data about their own services to check on progress and to identify any emerging issues so that they can be addressed as promptly as possible.
Every month, a core set of indicators – or scorecard - is reviewed by the senior leadership team and, every other month, by the Trust board at its public meeting. For each indicator, we look at how we are performing against national standards and/or our own targets.

- A quick overview of the latest monthly performance indicators
- The bi-monthly public board papers with the full scorecard and finance report
- Our latest annual report with a summary of last year’s performance.
We are working to expand the performance data we publish proactively as part of our commitment to providing full and open information about our organisation. In addition to the monthly and bi-monthly reports, we publish weekly A&E performance data. We also have more background on how mortality rates are calculated.
