Caf-hab neurological rehabilitation support group: launch event for staff and community workers

Calling all neuro-rehab professionals: come to the launch of Caf-hab – our exciting new transition and support group for patients with long-term neurological conditions. We piloted the group in summer with fantastic results and are keen to share our experiences and aspirations with you at this launch event on 11 October at the St Paul’s Centre in Hammersmith.

Caf-hab has been set up by the Charing Cross Hospital neurological rehabilitation unit (CNRU). The group is open to patients who are being cared for in the rehabilitation unit, and outpatients living in the community. It will meet weekly to help patients build their confidence in preparation for returning home from hospital. It allows them to connect with other patients who are further along in their rehabilitation journey and living at home – providing invaluable peer support.

The Caf-hab event is open to Trust staff and staff from other NHS and third party organisations who work with people with neurological conditions in our local community. The event will start with presentations at 16.00 in the Newbigin room followed by refreshments.

Places are limited so please let us know if you would like to attend the launch or ask any questions by emailing pippa.kirby@nhs.net.
