Entry-level qualifications
Through our Learning for Work team the Trust is committed to offering all staff in entry-level roles the opportunity to achieve a national vocational qualification (NVQ) at levels 2 or 3, or equivalent, if a qualification at this level is not already held.
Tailored induction
All new staff are given a tailored induction programme. This is followed by a range of short courses on important topics, such as health and safety, and infection control.
Leadership development
Our Leadership Development team provide a comprehensive selection of courses and support for leaders and managers, including the Effective Manager Programme for first-line managers and the Senior Managers’ Development Programme.
We also offer many more courses, lunchtime events, briefings and resources, including the innovative Peer Coaching Programme and access to the highly regarded Virtual Learning Resources Centre, in partnership with Ashridge Business School.
Essential IT skills
Through our Learning for Work team we provide short courses in basic PC use and essential IT skills, such as using Word and Excel, at introductory, intermediate and advanced level. We also offer the full European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) qualification.

Many other short and longer courses are available, for example Change Management, Conflict Resolution and Customer Care.
