Support after you retire

Staff who retire from the NHS are welcome to join the NHS Retirement Fellowship, a UK-wide organisation that offers activities and support for its 16,000 members.  

Joining the NHS Retirement Fellowship can help you add interest to your retirement and make new friends who have shared your experience of public service in a very worthwhile job. We have almost 200 local branches that offer a busy programme of things to do, including the following:

  • Social events
  • Visits to places of interest
  • Travel, including holidays
  • Regular meetings with speakers
  • The chance to learn new skills, develop new interests and share your interests with others
  • Walking and exercise groups
  • Welfare support

Membership is open to anyone who has retired from the NHS (or from NHS partner organisations), from all grades, posts and settings.
