Wharfside day ward

The Wharfside clinic day ward is run by experienced HIV nurses and provides a range of services which include the following:

  • Blood testing
  • Hepatitis vaccinations
  • Blood pressure and weights
  • Treatment advice and adherence support
  • Sexual health advice, screens and treatments
  • Cervical smears
  • Contraception advice and access to contraception
  • Partner HIV testing
  • Help to register with a GP
  • Referral to voluntary organisations for peer support, counselling, living well programs and
  • Referral for smoking cessation support, and YMCA exercise programs
  • Facilitate admissions for inpatient care
  • Day care services such as blood transfusion, dressings and treatments 

The day ward nurses are available to help with general enquiries, provide advice on HIV-related issues and put you in touch with other services. We are able to provide food if you are spending the day in the day ward. Please bring any tablets or medication that you need to take if you are coming into the Wharfside clinic for the day or for admission.
